Express Entry program:
Express Entry program is a system currently in place for selection of immigrants based on merits. It is an online pool where all the eligible applicants upload their profile and are awarded points based on comprehensive ranking system (CRS). The draws occur every fortnight selecting applicants with high CRS score.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP):
Apart from Express Entry System, provinces have their own nominee program, in which they select immigrants based on occupation in demand, job offer in hand or family tie ups in the province. Most of the provinces have linked their PNP with Express entry while other may require a separate Expression of interest (EOI) to be filed based on their own qualifying criteria.
